Does this mean I cannot view the best potential show in all the world? If so... FML.

In Canada at least, some ITV shows are shown on CBC affiliates, so I assume a large network would probably pick up syndication rights for what quite possibly will be one of the biggest car shows ever.

Ugh, really?

Prepare for:

‘Call 00 Cla, 00 Ham or 00 May for who you feel won tonight’s challenge. BT standard charge but calling from a mobile will cost considerable more, remember to always ask the bill payer’s permission.’

And that’s even if we actually get to see because cutting out at the vital moment is the ITV way (C).

My anticipation has taken a rather substantial nose dive.

Even after reading that, it still hasn’t said that a deal has been finalized as of yet.

After secret talks at the home of ITV programme chief Peter Fincham the deal with Clarkson, Hammond and May – ... – is said to be “close to conclusion”.

So, it sure looks likely, but it isn’t set in stone.

I don’t see anywhere that the ITV deal has been finalized. Besides, if it were to go through, it might not exclude other networks in the U.S. :

One snag with the ITV deal is that Clarkson and Co are also discussing terms with a major American network.

A source close to the negotiations said the trio and producer Andy Wilman, 52, were keen to retain total control over programme making.

Such a deal would see them producing a show and then supplying it to a “primary brand” such as ITV or Stateside companies like Hulu, Amazon or Netflix for distribution

The source said: “ITV is an attractive proposition to keep British fans happy, but talks are also going on about a partnership with an American distributor.

The same goes for PBS in the States, Downton Abbey for example.

However, the depressing bit is that all quotes relating to the hosts are from unnamed and probably imaginary sources

PBS also had/has access to many BBC shows.

Like Are You Being Served?

....to various ports (like Antiques Roadshow) and documentaries:
